We are the largest opposition party on Wychavon District Council with 12 councillors (The Labour Party has 2). You can read about our District and County Councillors on this site. 

More and more people are turning to the Liberal Democrats. A great many people have lost faith in this Government because they simply can’t trust them. Labour is running a negative campaign because they hope people are even more frightened of the Conservatives than themselves.  But now there is a real alternative. Across the country the Liberal Democrats are the challengers to both the old parties.

Our promises to introduce the fairer Local Income Tax; cut primary school class sizes and student tuition fees; provide free personal care and increased pensions for the elderly,   are what people want to see.. Even our one and only   proposal to increase tax   (an increase of 10p in the pound on individual incomes of over £100,000 a year) gained the support of 73% in a recent National Opinion Poll.

Liberal Democrat policies are based on our belief in the freedom of the individual.   Thus we believe that decisions affecting people’s lives should be taken by local communities wherever possible. Far too many decisions are made for us by the EU that could easily be decided at national or regional level, and many decisions made at that level should be taken by local councils.
